To determine if the engine has the roller lifters, do the following: Pull the valve cover and remove a push tube, look down at the lifter at the 3 o'clock or the 9 o'clock position. The 250HP engine has a hanger or tab on the side of the lifter that prevents it from rotating. If the lifter does not have this feature then it is not a 250HP engine. To avoid core penalties, use like for like engine cores.
