Long block includes: all parts on the short block plus: heads, front cover, valve train (lifters, pushrods & rocker arms), glow plugs, rear cover, cover seals. Complete drop in engine includes: (all parts on the long block plus) oil pan & pickup tube, dipstick, lift pump, water pump, oil filter, damper pulleys, complete fuel system, fuel filter assembly, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, oil cooler, dipstick guide.

Navistar IDI 6.9L/7.3L Engine Identification:
6.9L vs. 7.3L:The cylinder head bolt towers are shorter on the 6.9L. Applications for the 6.9L and the 7.3L are not interchangeable.Truck vs. Van Models: The oil cooler assembly and the fuel filter locations are different. Truck and van models are not interchangeable. Pre-1992 vs. Post-1992: Pre-1992 engines use V-belt configuration, while post 1992 engines use a serpentine configuration. Ford vs. International: Ford applications have a rear sump and International applications have a front sump.
